I didn’t find it easy but I did it.
I get a lot of people telling me that it; “It is ok for people like you, but it is not like that for everyone.” They seem to think that I made it over night. That scores of people ran to my door and screamed at me to join my network marketing business. Nothing could be further from the truth.
It is also probably true for every successful network marketer. The hard yards are all done in the beginning and the results don’t often show for a very long time. I was listening to a well known MLM trainer today, Ray Higdon, and he was saying that the hardest landmark to reach is $1000 a month. That was true for me and many others who seem to have broken through the early barriers to a successful network marketing career.
I took 18 months to get beyond 30 sales in my high ticket network marketing business, Enagic and I seemed to be treading water with the results I was getting. It was getting me past $1000 a month due to the nature of our commission structure but not much more to be honest. Then all of a sudden it just seemed to develop a mind of its own and BOOOOOM!!! Duplication by the bucket load! A big ranking promotion 5 months later and a residual income ever since.
In my business one of the very top earners didn’t make a personal sale for his first year. How would you deal with that? Would you be a cry baby and given up? Remember my post about 3 Feet From Gold? So many network marketers are not ready to go through the initial hard yards to achieve their dream.
Some Examples Of Rejection To Success
1. Albert Einstein
Despite being known as a true genius in the present day, this intellectual didn’t have a great start (to say he was running behind is an understatement). As a kid, he didn’t begin to speak a word until he was 4 years old. A few years later, his elementary school teachers considered him lazy because he would ask abstract questions that made no sense to others.
He kept on anyway, eventually formulating the theory of relativity — something most of us still can’t understand today.
2. Elvis Presley
Elvis Presley earlier in his life did not perform to expectation. in fact he was told by the Grand Ole Opry manager, Jimmy Denny, “You ain’t goin’ nowhere, son. You ought to go back to driving’ a truck.”
Yet Elvis became an American singer and would later be known as one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century. He is also referred to as “the King of Rock and Roll”, or simply, “the King“.
3. Walt Disney
Walter was fired by a newspaper editor because he lacked imagination and had no good ideas. After being bankrupt four times, Walt Disney would later build the Disney empire and would be regarded as a cultural icon known for his influence and contributions to entertainment during the 20th century.
The list goes on an on. From JK Rowling,Thomas Edison, Michael Jordan….1000’s of people from all walks of life went through rejection after rejection before they found success and it is no different to building a successful network marketing business.
The success is in the NO’s. One network marketing millionaire got 450 No’s before he made a sale… 450! So how many people are you speaking to? How many messages, how many chats, how many phone calls? How many rejections are you piling up to get those valuable leaders in your business.
What do YOU call Massive Action?
One of my mentors taught me how to work out the average income from one of my sales and I have worked it out to around £10,000 in the first 2 years and much greater over time. That makes getting those early NO’s a little more bearable, eh? How much do you value each of your team members. What income are they and their teams generating for you, or what could they generate from your companies compensation plan?
Say, if you found someone like me, or a leader in your company what would that be worth to you? Perhaps if you were guaranteed that if you were super busy with your business for 90 to 180 days collecting NO’s but along the way you would find a real leader who was going to take you to the top, you would get busy on the those NO’s right?
So a period of AOMA can make huge changes in your life and business. Not giving up is one thing – that doesn’t get you success – but not giving up and coupling that with a real period of activity then your success is assured.
I didn’t find it easy. It was as hard for me as anyone else. No one achieves success without a period of hard work.
So switch on your motor, put it in accelerate mode and get to work on your business.
It may just be the start of a great new beginning!!
